The Mariamu & Yakubu Skill Development & Educational Foundation is a non-profit foundation that provides support for the development of youth and entrepreneurs in addition to providing innovative and effective educational support for indigent and exceptional students in Kaduna State and Nigeria. The foundation will seek to create vibrant multi-stakeholder partnerships to encourage synergy and ensure that our goals are met in enhancing the quality of life of Nigerian youth and especially women.
The Mariamu&Yakubu Skill Development & Educational Foundation has been incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) that gives it the legal status to conduct grant making activities, develop, plan, implement and monitor its activities in Nigeria
The Foundation has a unique role to play as a catalyst for change in the lives of Nigerian women and young people. Our approach to problem solving will be to utilize creative and innovative solutions and we will take responsibility for all our actions by remaining accountable to the communities where we work. We know that our Foundation’s resources are not enough to solve all of Nigeria’s problems but we will maximize our impact by collaborating and valuing other partners. We believe that talented and committed people, with appropriate resources and support, can drive meaningful innovation and create lasting change.
Our Long-term goals and strategies will guide our grant making across our two programs areas of entrepreneurship/skills development and educational empowerment. In pursuing these goals, we will continually monitor and adjust our strategies to accommodate for accomplishments and changes in the fields in which we work, and also in response to changes in the Nigerian economy that might affect our resources at the Foundation
Ultimately, we will strive for our success at the foundation to be measured over years and decades and not just in days and months.
